How to Confidently Boost Your
Decision Making Skills
As an entrepreneur, you’re faced with literally tens of thousands of decisions each day. Some are easy, but others will impact the future of your business, the clients you serve and how much profit you generate. Becoming confident with your decision making skills can be a competitive advantage that helps you seize opportunities quickly and boost your revenue.
Knowing how to make decisions isn’t something that we’re often taught, unless you’ve had a great boss or mentor in your career.
And when you’re faced with hard decisions, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with making a touch choice. Sometimes, there’s an abundance of contradictory information in your research that leads you to struggle to know what’s the best choice, or other times, there’s not enough information to make a decision.
As an Intuitive Business Mentor who’s been in business for over 15 years and supporting entrepreneurs with making a wide range of decisions, from selecting the best candidate to hire to million dollar decisions on finding investing for their big projects, I’ve developed a simple, power process that blends reviewing logical facts with tuning in to your gut instincts to confidently making decisions with no regrets. I share more in my Intuitive Business Decision Making Training that you can watch on demand.
Effective Decision Making
Effective decision making is more of an art, as it’s rarely black and white, even after you do your due diligence with your research. As an Intuitive Business Mentor, I teach leaders how to effectively make decisions blending both logic and due diligence with your gut instinct.
Are the results perfect?
No, but when you’re making a decision, you’re making a choice based only on facts that you’re currently aware of, and there is so much more brewing in the world that will impact the final outcome. For instance, when I was doing my intuitive business planning for 2020, as I was tuning in to the month of March, I pulled the card “Ice-o-lation” which did not mean what I thought it was going to mean, and of course, that’s when everyone was asked to stay home. Intuitively, we know more than we realize.
And I think that it’s important to take the pressure off and not strive necessarily for perfection, but rather for what’s the best choice for this current moment, because things change, often quickly.
But the key for decision is understanding how to confidently make choices in that moment with the information and insights you have. And always using the results as a way to learn and grow.

Simple Effective Decision Making
I struggled with making decisions for many years. I was so afraid of making the wrong choice. Things got much easier when I started to develop my intuition and brought that into my decision making.
At first I wondered “what will people think,” when I tell them that I use my intuition to make business decisions – is that irresponsible?
Then I discovered that some of the biggest leaders in the world have used their intuition when making important decisions, like:
- Warren Buffet, of Berkshire Hathaway who uses his intuition when investing
- Sir Richard Branson of the Virgin Group said “I rely far more on gut instincts than researching huge amounts of statistics”
- And Steve Jobs from Apple who said in his biography “Intuition is a very powerful thing, more powerful than intellect.”
And I realized how important it was to bringing intuition into my decision making. And I’ve incorporated this work into how I support my clients who have businesses ranging from service based entrepreneurs who are reaching for their first six figures in business, to long time business owners with million dollar businesses, who want to bring more ease and reduce the stress of leading their business.
Intuitive Decision Making Model
I’ve created a simple Intuitive Decision Making Model that blends logical research, fact reviewing and needs assessment with your intuition to make more wholistic and effective choices. It’s allowed me to confidently make choices in life and business, and has literally saved me so much time and energy not stressing about decisions, and tens of thousands of dollars, avoiding “wrong” decisions.
I really like the peace of mind that this process brings, as you get out of overwhelm and overthinking and know that you’re making the best choice for that moment, helping to make important decisions without regret.
Here are just a few examples of how I’ve used this model with clients:
